Let's Try My Protein

A couple of years back whilst going to the gym very regularly, I bought myself some of the Protein World Slender Blend to help my muscles recover after exercising. As well as post exercising, I got really into having a vanilla shake with some oats and banana for breakfast. I swear I’ve never had more energy than I did back then. I found that the shakes really helped to keep me feeling full and satisfied, and at that time I felt really fit and healthy. I was happy with my body and very rarely felt lethargic and unmotivated. I’m not sure why I got out of that routine or habit, but my body has definitely altered a lot again since that time and I really want to get back to where I was.

I’ve recently gotten back into going to the gym/weight training on a far more regular basis and so, I decided to get myself a fresh supply of protein. Whilst I did enjoy using my Protein World Vanilla Slender Blend, it’s pretty damn pricey, and I couldn’t justify spending so much money on the product when I wouldn’t be incorporating into my diet as regularly as I did before.

After some research, I decided to look to My Protein. At first glance their prices seemed far more reasonable... and for far more product too. The one negative (if you can really call this a negative) is that they have so much choice! It was quite overwhelming to see, especially for someone who's never delved too far into the protein/supplements world. However, they've created a way to combat any confusion with a tool which I found extremely helpful!

Instead of rooting through all of their products trying to work out what the hell you need, you can use their simple 'Your Goal' tool, which easily enables you to select your fitness aim - be is muscle gain, weightloss, lean muscle etc. From your selection you will be shown the products to suit your goal... making the process super quick and easy.

I went for 'lean muscle', as I want to increase my strength and grow my muscle mass without gaining an extensive amount of fat (I definitely don't need that). Since I wanted an easy to use protein powder, I went with their 'Impact Whey Protein' (available in 1kg, 2.5kg and 5kg). Next decision, what flavour? With 50 to select from you really are spoilt for choice.

I wanted something relatively simple that could easily be consumed on its own or with fruit blended in if desired. After a while of deliberating I went for Cookies and Cream... which proved to be a damn good choice. While I still think I prefer the taste of Protein World's vanilla Slender Blend, I really enjoy the taste this My Protein product has. It has the right amount of flavour to give you a sweet treat, but without being too over the top or leaving a strange aftertaste as some proteins do.

Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase and enjoy using it on a regular basis after working out.

I'd definitely recommend checking out My Protein if you're in the market for a new protein supplement, and I'll be going back to them once my supply run's out!
