Now as the title suggests, Hourglass products in general are pretty damn dreamy. The packaging alone looks so very beautiful and luxurious... and what's inside is no different. I've been dying to pick up one of their Ambient Lighting Blushes for so long now, ever since I swatched some in Sephora last June. Finally, I decided to pick one up for myself - it wasn't an easy decision, as despite their beauty, these products aren't the most bank friendly.
I went for the shade Mood Exposure, and I literally can't get enough of it!
The whole premise behind the Ambient Lighting Blush collection is that they're a combination of the Ambient Lighting Finishing Powders - which add an all over glow and brightening effect to the skin - and some truly gorgeous cheek colours that give an almost soft focus look. They come in seven colours, all of which are completely beautiful and varying in their shades - so there's something for everyone.
Mood Exposure has an almost deep pinky/purple colour the brand describe as 'soft plum'. I think because of the deeper shade, I find this particular colour works best on the cheeks without any contouring or over use of bronzer, as on its own it adds a great deal of colour and depth. When I initially tested the colour out on my hand after opening it, I was quite disappointed as it seemed to barely contain any colour pigment - something that you would expect to be great for the price. However onec I actually applied it onto my cheeks using a brush, I was completely amazed by just how pigmented it was! You only need to lightly swirl your brush in the pan for it to give the most amazing colour when applied to your skin, and because of that, it's super easy to build up and create as subtle or bold look as you wish.
I definitely want to try more of the shades.... however unfortunately, that won't be any time soon!
