Christmas Beauty!

Ok, so I know its now the 6th of January, and Christmas already seems long gone... however I never got round to posting about some of the wonderful (beauty) gifts I received; so, that's what I'm doing today. There were a few beauty bits I'd asked for, and I was lucky enough to be well and truly spoilt by my family, receiving some of the products I'd been lusting after for a while.

I first saw the Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Paintpot in Rubenesque back in the Summer when Estee Lalonde talked about it in one of her Youtube videos. From then on, I knew I wanted to add it to my collection, however at £16, it wasn't something I could easily justify purchasing when it wasn't a product I really needed. My lovely mom bought it for me for Christmas, and I've used it non-stop since then. It is such a beautiful shade, and while I wasn't sure whether it would actually look good on.... it really does! The only way I can describe the colour is the same way that Estee did in her video, by saying it looks like a sunset. And it really does! It is a gorgeous combination of pink, gold and orange all swirled together to create something beautiful!

I've been using the Clinique Super-balanced makeup in Number 27 (Alabaster) for a good few years now, and my Aunt was kind enough to gift me a replacement! I just love the formula and finish of this foundation as it applies and blends so easily onto the skin. It is a fab base for combination skin, as it provides moisture and a dewy finish, whilst also controlling oil.

Lily Pebbles constantly raves about the Mac lipstick in the shade Mehr, and after swatching it in store a few months back, I thought I'd pop it onto my Christmas list. It comes in a matte finish, however I still don't find it too drying on the lips which is great if you're someone like me who generally suffers with extremely dry lips during the colder months. Mac describes the shade as a 'dirty blue pink' which I'd say is fair. Its a dark pink shade that is slightly on the blue toned side of the colour spectrum, and it works well as a colour for both day and night makeup looks!

What beauty products did you get for Christmas?
