Melted Fig!

I'm starting this post with the increasingly common "my friend Levinia recommended this to me".... she is literally my biggest enabler! However as always, she wasn't kidding about this being a fabulous product.

I'm never daring with lip colours, I'm all about the nude shades... but something about this autumn (and seeing tons of gorgeous autumnal makeup looks all over instagram) has made me want to experiment with a bit more colour!

The issue with darker/bolder colours is that they tend to wear off quickly and unevenly on my lips if they're a glossier formula (and I don't have the time to keep topping it up every hour),  or suck every last drop of moisture out of them if they have a matt finish.

So, when Levinia recommended these Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks (long name!) to me, I was really interested in trying one out. Nicely, my learning about these products coincided with my birthday and a shopping trip into Birmingham. Amazingly there's now a Too Faced stand in the Bullring Debenhams (hallelujah), so I popped in to check out the colour range! The guy at the stand was so helpful, and after falling in love with the colour 'Melted Fig', but expressing my worry about 'pulling it off' per say, he offered to try it on for me so I could see how I felt about it (hooray for a mini makeover)!

Surprisingly I absolutely loved the shade, so instantly decided I'd get it before I chickened out once again! The formula of these lipsticks is great! Super matt and super long lasting with super intense colour (I'll definitely be trying some more shades soon).

The applicator allows for accurate and precise application without the need for a lip liner, which makes it really easy to top up on the go if you need to, although they last a great amount of time anyway after the first use. The only issue I have with the product is that due to the matt finish, it can make your lips feel quite dry; so what I've found is that applying a lip balm prior to using it leaves the perfect base, and if anything keeps the colour looking better for longer!
