My Day At Cheltenham Races!

Today I was lucky enough to attend ladies day at the prestigious horse races in Cheltenham with thanks to Etail PR.  They very kindly gave me two tickets to the event, which I feel very lucky to have received as without them, I wouldn't have got to experience such a wonderful day. To start with, Cheltenham is a beautiful place anyway, and having been there many times in the past I was excited to go back.... even more so with an excuse to dress up!

I started the day bright and early... as I needed time to make myself look presentable for such an occasion! I took my mom with me as my guest, and we set off at 8.30am to head down to Cheltenham (stopping for coffee on the journey of course)! When we arrived we had to head to the Etail PR office in the town centre in order to collect our tickets! It was great to visit their offices as it gave me the opportunity to meet some of the staff, who were so very lovely..... and I even got a glass of prosecco! A pretty good start to the day I must say!

Tickets in hand, we headed up to the racecourse at about midday, battling through traffic on the way! Having never been to the races before I was really unsure about what to expect, but it's always brilliant to experience new things after all.

The course was busier then expected and to start with there were so many people about.... although with the course being spread over so much ground, the crowds soon spread out after the initial rush of everyone arriving! As travelling is such hungry work, we made food our first port of call, and struggled to eat burgers without making a complete mess of our outfits (not the most elegant food I know.... but they were pretty darn tasty)!

The races began at 1.30pm, and it was a great experience to watch them! Although you couldn't see loads all the time, the crowds were lively...because everyone cares when they have money bet on something! After getting some tips for Pete (Etail PR), we decide we would have a small bet on one of the races! Unfortunatly, I didn't have much luck with their of the bets I made during the day... my mom however, won money on the first one! Very unfair!

Although I didn't get to meet any other of the lovely bloggers that got to attend the event (we all just kept missing each other in the #illbethere bar), it was such a great opportunity to spend time with Pete and Bethan from Etail PR and have some really nice chats with them both!

Thank you very much for the opportunity to attend ladies day, I really appreciate it and had a truly wonderful day!
